This salad sounds absolutely delicious! It’s healthy too – can’t beat that!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 (15-oz) can chickpeas (or 1.5 cups cooked)
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine grain sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground turmeric

DIY Cayenne Infused Muscle Rub

Ok, here’s one for all you aspiring Naturopaths out there. This is a really cool DIY Muscle Rub and I think over time it could save you a lot of money over buying those expenses options at Whole Foods or places like that. Check it out!

Here’s a list of the ingredients-

about 3/4 cup coconut oil
1 cup finely grated cocoa butter (I used a cheese grater)*
2 tablespoons cayenne powder
2 teaspoons ginger powder
15 drops peppermint oil**
15 drops eucalyptus oil
8 drops clove oil***
1 teaspoon arrowroot powder or non-GMO cornstarch (optional – reduces oily finish)

I love using the grill to make meals in the summer. I think everything just tastes a little better…(probably because everything tastes better in the summertime!).

Yummm, this is the perfect healthy alternative to Buffalo Chicken Wings… Buffalo Cauliflower!

Buffalo-Cauliflower

Ingredients
  • 1 head cauliflower
  • For the batter:
  • Dash of Frank’s Original Hot Sauce, or whatever kind you like
  • ½ c. white rice flour
  • ½ c. water
  • Pinch salt
  • For the Buffalo sauce:
  • ¼ c. Frank’s Hot Sauce
  • ¼ c. oil, canola oil works best
  • Pinch salt
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix together the batter ingredients in a small bowl. Dip the cauliflower in the batter until coated evenly then place on greased baking sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes or until the batter hardens.
  2. Mix together sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Once the cauliflower are done baking, brush them with the hot sauce mixture and bake again for a few more minutes, until cauliflower is crispy.
  3. Remove from oven. You may want to add a bit more buffalo sauce to taste.
  4. Enjoy!

Easy Watermelon Yogurt Recipe!

I’ve been working out a lot more lately and you’re supposed to replenish your muscles with some good carbs and protein post workout. My first thought was pasta and a protein shake, but turns out there’s way yummier ways to get your nutrients. This is a non fat greek yogurt with 22 grams of protein and watermelon as my source for carbs.  Sweetened with a little Truvia (stevia) and voila! A great little post workout meal! See below for complete recipe-

Recipe:

1 Cup non fat greek yogurt

1 Cup cubed watermelon

1 tsp Truvia
